SHS FBLA students competed at the FBLA State Conference in Little Rock at the State Convention Center. We are all proud of how they represented our school! Congratulations to Hunter McLain for placing 1st in Management Information Systems! Mrs. Celeste Smith is the FBLA sponsor.

5th and 6th grade teachers and students are ramping up for ATLAS testing in a few weeks with an ATLAS Boot Camp! These students are so excited about this. They are showing off what they CAN do and challenging each other. Thank you, teachers, for such a great idea! You're the best!!

Sophomores and Juniors went to the "Build My Future" event yesterday. The students learned about a variety of careers in the construction industry. They also had the opportunity to experience hands-on activities such as welding, bricklaying, extinguishing fire, operating heavy equipment, and building a bridge to name a few. Overall, I think the students learned some new things while having a little fun at the same time.

Today is national School librarian appreciation day. We are so thankful for Mrs. Mannon. She is a fantastic librarian and wears so many other hats as well! Thank you again for all you do, Mrs. Mannon!!

Good morning, I wanted to send an update about the weather. We are monitoring the weather closely, and as of now we plan on dismissing at our normal Friday time of 2:30. If anything changes, I will let you know as soon as possible. Everyone stay safe out there.

It looks like the trip bus will make it in time, whew! The route buses should be on time this afternoon. Have a great spring break and get some rest!

The trip bus could run a little late this afternoon, so our route buses may be a few minutes later than normal for Friday, possibly up to 15 minutes. I will keep you posted. Thank you for understanding. I hope everyone has a great spring break!

February Distinguished Devils. I am very proud of our kids. Thank you for your hard work.

As we move into the last part of the school year, the Shirley School District, in partnership with Boston Mountain Rural Health Center, wants to remind parents/guardians that students who go to the Health Center are not counted absent from school while at their appointment. Our plan is to get them seen by a professional and then hopefully back to class, not affecting attendance.

2025 Spring Science Fair:

2nd place- Chevelle Forrester and Paisley Rowley

Shirley School District hosted a career fair to provide our high school students with the opportunity to learn about various career options in our area. Seventeen vendors were in attendance. Thank you to Ms. Tonya Clark, our college and career coach, for putting this together, and thank you to the businesses who came to join us today.

The students in Mrs. Wiggins classroom are working hard to get their garden up and going for the 2025 Spring/Summer growing season. They use the food grown in their garden to make delicious recipes. They also use some of the grown food to feed their classroom pets as well as their barn animals.
