We are moving right along. Here is your menu for Week 31!

On March 30, 2026, our ACES program was monitored by the Department of Education 21st Century Community Learning Center department. After completing an extensive monitoring tool and a 6-hour in-house visit, we are proud to announce that our program had no findings requiring corrective action. Thank you to everyone who has had a part in making ACES a fun, educational place for our students. Also, thank you to the parents who have allowed us to work with your children.
In order to better our ACES program even more, we are asking all elementary parents to please take a few minutes to complete this survey. This is NOT only for those currently attending the program! We would love to have the input from parents of every elementary student. (It may be necessary to copy and paste the link into your browser. I'm new at this type of survey :) )

Arkansas' Summer EBT program is back!
The Summer EBT program provides grocery benefits to families with school-aged children in our community. Last year alone, Summer EBT helped 336.000 kids in Arkansas get the healthy food that they usually enjoy while they're in school! However, a lot of families still don't know that they are eligible for this support, which is why we are helping get the word out!
How does Summer EBT work?
Summer EBT is for school-aged children in households participating in SNAP, TEA, Medicaid Free or
Medicaid Reduced, or for children attending a school that offers USDA National School Lunch or School
Breakfast Program, and whose household income meets the requirements for free or reduced-price
school meals.
Families receive $120 per eligible school-aged child for groceries, and the benefit is delivered on a new or
existing Summer EBT card. If they received Summer EBT last year, the benefits will be loaded on the
same card–so families should make sure they still have their card handy!
Most eligible families will be automatically enrolled, but some will need to apply.
Families can check here if they need to apply, or if they should receive Summer EBT automatically:
ar.gov/SummerEBT
If your school is part of CEP or Provision 2, like Shirley Schools is, you will need to apply for Summer EBT unless you are receiving SNAP, TEA, Medicaid Free, or Medicaid Reduced assistance. If you are a Shirley parent and need help determining this status, please reach out to Mrs. Angie at 501-518-2223 or shoot her a quick email at angie.williams@shirley.k12.ar.us.

ATTENTION: The Class of 2026 college and career signing day will be held in the auditorium on April 23rd at 11.
A huge thank you to the Fairfield Bay American Legion post 333 for generously covering the fees for students, Tristan Henderson and Katie Mendieta to attend Girls and Boys State 2026. Your support provides an incredible opportunity for these young leaders to learn about government, develop leadership skills, and represent our school with pride.

Ninth and tenth grade had an incredible opportunity attending Build My Future at the Conway Expo Center yesterday where learning went beyond the classroom. These students learned about various careers in the construction industry by engaging in hands-on activities with over 50 companies. Students made connections and experienced real- world skills during this time.

Don't forget! Tuesday, April 7 is Muffins with Mom!
